Please be advised that if you have a device as shown below, which is a BigPond 4G ultimate Wi Fi modem, that it risks hahing the battery explode amd catch fire. The fire could ignite your home.
The battery in the device is a Lithium Ion Polymer battery which, if it is over charged, short circuited or gets to the state of the battery shown and ruptures, could explode and burst into flames.
May I advise that if you have a device that uses Lithium Ion batters that you check them on a regular basis for signs such as shown below.
Also if you device shows signs of that below, or any signs of the "pillow effect", contact you contact the supplier without delay.
Cameras, mobile phones and a whole host of electronic devices use Lithium Ion batteries

Thankyou Poddster, I do use one of those modems and tend to leave it plugged to the charger all the time.
One night it had slipped off the arm of the lounge chair and was trapped next to my leg. It got really hot and displayed a warning message saying it had reached a critical temperature. Scared the beejeebus out of me as it was only luck that noticed the heat coming off it and moved it.
My partners phone battery recently did that swelling thing. It cracked the back of the phone case. Iy was a relatively new battery too, which was annoying.
