Computer help please

I ask on this forum because it is a small problem and I am sure there is someone here who can help.  Please.

Somehow I have clicked somewhere and bu gg ered something up.

I can no longer do emoticons, emoticons have disappeared from my past posts, and do not show in other people's posts.  The folder icons down the left of the thread titles have disappeared.  Any icons at all are missing, the stars which accompany peoples' feedback score, the button to kudos someone is black.  A few other things. 

So it something to with icons.  Show icons/ images, or block icons etc.  I can find nothing in my settings that has anything to do with it.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks Erica, but no.  There are no emoticons in the box at all, and it is on Rich Text even as I type now.

There are no emoticons in other peoples' posts etc.  All the folder icons down the left of the thread titles are missing, the ones which tell you which thread tou have contributed to etc.  There are no stars next to peoples' feedback numbers.  There are other icons missing.

So the problem isn't limited to the posting box icons.

Click on Rich Text.

Yes, it does but it doesn't make the other people's posted emoticons disappear.  I tried that and tired it from the settings menu and the emoticons were still visible.... I guess they could have been saved in the cache, I didn't refresh.

Polk: What browser are you using?  Have you tried another browser?  Try another ebay site to see if the problem is the same for you - say the UK site:

Are you using a mobile device, such as ipad? 

There is a check box which turns off images under the mobile tab in settings. You could have unticked it.

Thank you, I will try them.  I just want it all to go back to normal.

I did a system restore, but no luck.

I do not want to go to some nerd down the road who will charge me $50 or more for a couple of clicks.

I can see everyone's avatars, but not their feedback stars.

I presume that you are not posting through clicking on Discussion Boards - Community Spirit threads, but through your Messages.

It sounds like you've changed the settings in the menu next to avi on the CS page.   The folder icons can be turned back on in your settings >Preferences>display.....then check "Show folder icons for new posts and hot or read-only topics"
