I have a couple of PDF documents downloaded and need to answer them - preferably within the document as in notes after each para. I've tried C & P so I can convert to Open Office or even notepad (I don't have Word) but it won't copy and paste.
Is there any way I can convert them to a workable format? I'm pretty sure there must be but am stumped.
Help would be really appreciated.

You can download a PDF editor or use an online PDF editor, which ever suits your needs best.

Nitro 8 or 9 is an awesome tool for all sorts of PDF editing
There is a free version but I think it may be only a reader
I paid for the 'Pro' model and love it.

Are they locked documents?

I don't know Rose, PDF docs are pretty alien to me, lol. All I know is they wouldn't let me write to them. Anyway I wrote back to the Sender and asked them to
resend them to me in a Word format which they did, so now I can write to them. I don't have Word, but use Open Office, but it works with that.
I don't know if when I send them as an attachment they will be recognised, but anyway, one step at a time.
