and do a google on LIPO fires and watch some of the utube videos

They are banned from commercial air craft due to risk of fire and explosion

If people want to save the earth try a VW Polo diesal 4.6L / 100km they will cause far less pollution than manufacturing and recycling batteries

I thought the Boeing 787 Dreamliner used LIPO batteries - they had a few issues after release but are still using them I think.

You think they are banned from commercial use ?

did you look at what happens when a lipo is abused? either by short circuit or over charging.

Havent you seen the warning about mobile phs catching fire while charging, its happens when the charger voltage sensor fails for what ever reason and the battery continues to charge till it erupts into a fireball.

Re: Converting a gas car to electric

I was referring to your comment that LiPO batteries were banned from commercial aeroplanes - is that not the case then ?

check with aust post and see how you go shipping them.

They are used in model RC gear and even to get a single LIPO battery from China they have to go via switzland, (swis air) as no one else will carry them.

Re: Converting a gas car to electric

Again on that batteries, I refer you to pt4 and pt7 They were proven safe, efficient, less than the cost of an engine and outlasting the life of the electric motor. GM bought controlling shares and sold it to an oil company, It;s not just in the videos i posted, it's well documented, do searches. It would have made EVs viable overnight. 300 mile range and lasting the life of the car, and less than the cost of a gasolene engine.
