Symptoms are shivering, temperature of 39 +, vomiting, feeling like head is exploding with severe headaches and chronic fatigue. No sore throat, congestion, runny nose or any other flu like symptom. Has been going on over a week. Have taken OH to the doctor three times, first it was a virus (gastro) then a bacterial infection, sinus and now the flu...
I am concerned this is not the flu, no one else in the house is sick and since DD's have low immunity they usually catch everything going around.
I'm completely stumped but hope hes feeling better soon, there seems to be no real improvement and we've been told if symptoms get any worse over the weekend he has to go to the hospital.

Oh absolutely Cat we are very careful when it comes to viruses, the girls just have a lower immunity so we are big on hygiene that's for sure. We don't want them catching anything like this as it really could result in them being very ill so will take every precaution.
Thanks Lionrose, I'm keeping an eye on him if he goes as high as 40 I'll contact the doctor or head up the hospital atm its fluctuating a lot.

Thanks for your get well wishes, it is unusual for me to get sick I commute every day on train and bus so have built up a pretty good resistance to most bugs. Mind you I did have whooping cough last year so maybe I am not as healthy as I thought
My OH is a bit peeved with me at the moment as I have not been to the doctors, being an ex nurse I can be my own worst enemy, I have the next 4 days off so I will see how I go with a bit of rest, cough mixture and soothers if I don't start to feel better by Monday I will go to the doctors, I don't have a high temperature so am not to worried.
Bella if your OH has a high temperature you should take him to the doctor again if he has any signs of swollen glands that will need to be looked at as well. I hope he gets better soon

Hope he is on the mend.
Do people only get drunk on weekends?
on โ21-09-2013 02:24 PM
I hope your OH is at least improving a bit bella.
Yes, az, more people get drunk on the weekends, end up in fights and end up going to A&E.
When my father needed an ambulance on a Sat night, the ambulance just go to him when they got a call about a man injured in a fight outside the pub.. they said too bad.. he (the drunk) can wait, we will take your father first. The only thing was when Dad was being attended to at the hospital they left him to attend to the drunk who came in about 30mins later.

Bella...hope he's on the improve. Glandular Fever is a possibility. flu like symtoms that persist for 3 weeks as I found out following a blood test.
