I want to attach one of these nurse pouches /pick bags
to my scrubs.
and be able to unattach it after each shift for washing
I don't want to use the waist strap but want to somehow attach it to my uniform pocket
any ideas from crafty sewers - and something a sewing newbie like me can manage
I was thinking of sewing press studs on the uniform and bag but not sure of this will hold and I don;t want to do any obvious
changes to the uniform top
.

IMO you may find the weight on the pocket alone too much, resulting in pulling the pocket down and outting too much strain on it. Press studs would have to be heavy duty commercial ones or you will find the pouch will constantly come away from the pocket....but again you may find it too heavy for a pocket alone.
What about an over shoulder band worn on an angle? Like a seatbelt IYKWIM. Then clipped to stop it dangling when you bend?

What do you carry in it? Not specifics but weight wise? If the weight is not great you could consider hammer in press studs. It would probably work best on the pocket flap rather than the pocket (if you have pocket flaps). Or perhaps a lighter weight pouch pocket to connect by stud or velcro.

press studs won't hold the weight. velcro - maybe. to be sure use buckles. i saw them very cheap in a leather/craft shop in all sorts of sizes or on ebay.

Then connect them when you need to? You could use a YKK zip which could take some weight in the pocket and your uniform ought not pucker like if you used press studs or velcro..
Iit could be fairly discrete, useful and you could zip the pouch/ pocket off your uniform so that you could wash your uniform...

That's why I asked about the weight factor. If it's not heavy press studs would hold it.

That's a good idea too. I have doubt about connecting it to the pocket itself though because the weight will pull the pocket open and down, unless the plan is to put the pouch inside the pocket ๐
