While it was done some years ago I see, I thought I would try a cryptic crossword-like thread for fun and to try and boost a little more interest here. I made up the below question for anyone interested in such a challenge. I thought the first person to get it correct might come up with the next question. A clue though - if you copy one from a newspaper or magazine etc., the answer can often be found on the internet. I can explain the answer for anyone who asks. ๐
The prisoner at the cave would not stand for the electrically charged droplets of water.

Being too impatient to wait, and suffering from some painful muscle spasms from doing paint prep stuff, I am ruthlessly jumping in now to post a new cryptic clue, and (my ruthlessness running out quite quickly) hope that everyone is happy with that.
In part, cache attorning (5)

cheat?

Yes!
I have an admission to make. This was my first &lit attempt. It was a little bit clumsy, but... I can only get better over time.
In part, cache attorning (5)
The whole clue gives a definition of sorts for the word cheat. As in... a part of the word cheat is obtaining money or goods by deception. Cache refers to stored goods or money, and attorning means transfering of such stuff. I used in part to signify parting someone from their goods, but also to refer to the fact that a cheat can be defined more widely. I could have done better with something like Secret cache attorning, I think, looking back at it now.
And breaking it down to the interior indicators etc.:
in part = [indicator: hidden] (that is, inside the next part of the clue)
cache attorning
Hence... the clue is the whole word and the clue, with nothing added.
Over to you, twyngwyn.
