I agree Deb, I have found an interesting one on ebay, I have contacted the seller for more information, so will see how I go with it. Close enough to pick up, so I can check it out personally.

Í noticed one or two interesting looking sets on eBay too Freddie, I wonder if it's one of those?

A lot of people have silver cutlery sets sitting in cupboards and never use them, I have a couple but I can't remember what they are. It is possible to pick up a set that's 10-15 years old but unused and that's what i would do rather than buy a new one from the shops. (just that the quality of them seems better than the current ones)

Good Luck! I hope you find what youre looking for

Freddie, if you are going to be in Sydney in mid to late January see if you can get to Peters of Kensington for their after Christmas sales.  They do not reopen after the holidays till the middle on January and the sales last till well into February

You will find a large range of cutlery both in the lower to mid range of prices up to needing a second mortgage type of prices....stainless steel and silver plate.

Any time I have been able to make a direct comparison of Peter's prices and any other shop, Peters is always far better.  If you want to get some idea of what they have they have a very comprehensive website.

So is Robins Kitchen.  70% off today and tomorrow.  I don''t know what their cutlery is like.

Apart from that, think about any difficulty in cleaning the cutlery when you look at it.  It's a bug.er of a job when there are patterns and grooves.

Freddie, my very favourite cutlery set is Rodd "Camille" design. I have the stainless steel version as it's good for everyday use and OK for putting in the dishwasher, but one day I will buy the silver plated version to use just for special occasions. If I wasn't on the IPad I'd find a link to show it to you, so will do that later

I just googled that and it looked familiar, my grandparents had it in silver, I remember polishing it when I was a kid. I just racked my brain trying to figure out where it ended up and I think I have it somewhere Smiley Embarassed Havent seen it for years, probably packed away in the shed, I'd completely forgotten about it.
