As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

"t's just the lie we've been fed by the old white men who fear losing their grasp on control."
After that (self) revealing comment I think it perfectly natural for the other member to ask if you are black. Why would that be considered personal? just ignore the question. However, an answer is not needed to be given as implication now reigns.
Continuing the identifying/profiling process we have this schoolyard comment:
"What's the hand in the pocket doing while the other hand gropes?"
Which brings me to the last question to complete a profile: do you occupy the matriarchal camp herein, or the patriarchal?. I guess the former, but I am a rotten guesser.

It is so revealing a comment it is scary.
And then to get all uppity at a perfectly normal question.
Someone asked me if I was married, you didn't see me get on the outrage bus !

Curious, have you ever heard of Dead white Males?
The comment I posted, which you are trying to pick apart, is a reflection of reality. The truth is we a governed by a bunch of white men, our corporations are largely controlled by a bunch of white men, our education policies (which were developed by a mixed group and have not had a chance to be tested) are getting rewritten by a few of white men. The fact is white men dominate every aspect of life in our society.
My comment was in relation to that, nothing else.
I said nothing about the poster asking if I was black. Nothing at all so don't assume.
Look at both sides of the conversation before you attack.

No, you got on the outrage bus and said stop getting personal yet you still didn't answer the question
which ater your comment was perfectly reasonable.

Now, re old white men who fear losing their grasp on control."
1. If women wanted it AND were any good - so merit based, NOT quota based, then they would rise to the top
on that basis. As has the 2nd woman to Abbotts cabinet this week, through DOING A GOOD JOB and I applaud
here for it.
2. Has anyone ever looked at the fact that some women might not be interested, in fact far less, so you have a smaller
pool to pick from so therefore you are going to get less at the top.
I am sure some of the ladies on this board would be able to add quite a few names of powerful females to that list.

"The truth is we a governed by a bunch of white men, our corporations are largely controlled by a bunch of white men,"
You are a woman, well, instead of birtching and moaning, get off your back side and get into a position
where you have some control, power, can lead, then stick it up the white men you so despise.
Instead of sniping at them from the sidelines, just because they got off their backsides and got on with life.
