What is this drug like??
does it make you drowsy and tired??
I have been told I might need to consider it for major pain problems right now.

Hi cat,
I had Polymyalgia Rheumatica for 2 1/2 years. I was prescribed steroids & started out on 15mg a day. Over the 2 1/2 years I had it I used Neurofen Plus for the pain & gradually decreased the streoid use to 2 1/2 mg a day.
The Neurophen Plus worked well for the pain but nothing worked for the chronic fatigue.
After 2 1/2 years of a debillitating aliment that ruined my quality of life I defeated the disease & am now back to normal.
My doctor said most people burn it off after 2 or 3 years.
It was a struggle every day & I look back on that time as the worst time in my life so I have great empathy for you cat, hope you're getting the help & support you need. :-x

I hope that you find something that gives you relief Cats Back.
That's great Lightningdance, you have no health problems at all now? That will be encouraging for others to hear... there was a couple of posters who had those conditions you suffered from.

The doc just put me on Endep because my irritable bowel has starting playing up. I only take 1/2 tablet at night but it does make me tired.
As for Digesic, I used to take it for migraines but I believe it has been taken off the market.
Digesic is still on the market....I got a script for it last week, find it very good for pain.

the doctor has suggested it for Fibromyalgia pain..
did a bit of a read up on it but I like to get peoples experiences..
If it is used for depression then probably not the best option as I have to consider the BiPolar implications....
I took it for a week for fibromyalgia pain. It gave me a dry mouth and grogginess all day. I ditched it.

I don't have a terminal illness and I have had endone prescribed as post operative pain relief and was told that I can take it for period pain! It's pretty wild if you're into an opiate like trip. I wouldn't want to go to work after having taken it - I think I'd collapse. But it's great for serious pain.

It's not usually only prescribed for people with terminal illnesses. My husband had it prescribed to manage his back pain post op. I know of others who do not have terminal illness and take Endone for strong pain. It is heavily regulated though.

Are you sure it's not ENDONE? That's also given and is a straight painkiller. You can get it in tablet form. It's full on, opiate based I think.
its not unusual to prescribe Endep for chronic pain.

Have you ever been prescribed Prednisone Cat?
Yep... I have double the dose to 10 mg for one week.
Aspie... It is Endep... fibro is not completely understood but is thought to be possibly neurological so this type of drug would be appropriate.
If endep is an antidepressant I can't take it... (from info read I discovered it is) It would flip me into mania within hours...
The doc that suggested it was very nice but she is not my regular one.... has no real understanding of my history... but it goes to show that doctors have no idea how antidepressants work on people with BiPolar or she would not have suggested it.
I have been taking panadeine forte for a few days and that seems to have helped wonders thank goodness...
appreciate everyones input.
Lightning.. I have Polyarthritis.. I use heaps of Ibuprofen.. this just was over the top pain.. feeling so much better now..

Good Cat, hope you can manage through it. I feel for you.

You could take endone if you are bi polar. It's not an SSRI or SNRI or anything. It's opiate based. But it is kind of addictive.
I can't take SSRI's or SNRI's either (I assume that's what you can't take).
Also, valium isn't too bad for a bit of pain relief if it's neuro based, although to be totally honest I have no idea what is usually used for fibro. But I do have some experience on pain killers when you can't take SSRI's or SNRI's.
