What is this drug like??
does it make you drowsy and tired??
I have been told I might need to consider it for major pain problems right now.

My elderly Mother was prescribed endep when Mr Father passed away 12yrs ago, it was to settle her and help her sleep, not meant for a long term relief. She is still taking it today, I tried to talk her into weaning herself off it, but she has it in her head if she goes off it she won't be able to sleep. Her Doc should never have let her stay on this medication, now I believe it woud upset her to try and get her off it.

That is what I really need to know.. if it is addictive then I won't go near it.. me and my addictive personality and all that.. lol

Have you ever been prescribed Prednisone Cat?
on 26-04-2013 09:03 PM
It's all individual, as you would probably know Cat. What affects one badly is great for
someone else. If your doc recommended it give it a go and keep your doc informed of how you're doing with it. A lot of meds are addictive but with common sense and the correct use of them you can wean of them after the short term. . I think to look up the adverse
reactions of a drug can be harrowing as just about every drug has adverse effects for some., but not all.
Hope it works for you, and good luck. with going back to work.

I have tried accupuncture.. and massages, and chiro, and hypnotherapy and even done a pain management course... had xrays and MRI...
I am just having a major flare up on one arm... was fine but I am back to work tomorrow after two weeks holiday... the pain was so bad I could not sleep last night..
BUT.. I will see if I can't find an acupuncturist. Never hurts to go back to what once worked...
I have private health cover to help pay for that sort of stuff.
My doctor was so good at it. She was not Asian but went to China for an extra year of study after her medical degree. It was so disappointing when she went on extended maternity leave because she was the best doctor we'd had in years.

I take Endep to help me sleep because of pain,2 little yellow tablets a night.
They help but my mouth gets very dry, espec when i wake in the morning, the only thing that helps is gum,i chew it all day.
Some people find it hard to wake up,i dont, but then i have no choice with 4 kiddies.
Mind you i get up 1/2 hr before they do so i can have a cuppa.

Are you sure it's not ENDONE? That's also given and is a straight painkiller. You can get it in tablet form. It's full on, opiate based I think.

The doc just put me on Endep because my irritable bowel has starting playing up. I only take 1/2 tablet at night but it does make me tired.
As for Digesic, I used to take it for migraines but I believe it has been taken off the market.

I had a friend on that once for severe back pain, had to stop taking it as it was giving him hallucinations.. It's usually only prescribed for people with terminal illnesses
