If we, as a society, accept the concept of freedom of speech, should we also accept the concept that there is a line which must not be crossed, and if so, where do we draw that line?

There is a line which each individual will not cross, however that line varies for each individual and gives an insight into that persons psyche.

Freedom of speech means exactly that.
Some might choose to draw a line...... others might not.

So, in other words, you believe there should be no line agreed to by society any individual or organisation should be free to publish anything they like, no matter how derogatory or inflammatory?

Freedom of Expression
Moral and ethical constraints.
example of crossing the line:
Sydney University Liberal Club
Jones was cited as saying, in reference to Prime Minister Julia Gillard's recently deceased father, John Gillard, "The old man recently died a few weeks ago of shame. To think that he had a daughter who told lies every time she stood for parliament".
At the same event, the Club was auctioning a jacket made from chaff bags, autographed by Alan Jones, a reference to his previous comments on radio that Julia Gillard should be "put into a chaff bag and thrown into the sea".
Opposition Leader Tony Abbott described Jones's comments as "wrong and offensive".

She el, I said nothing of the sort. You profess to be a word smith yet you don't seem to have the ability to read what is clearly stated and prefer to attempt to put words in my mouth, shame on you 🙂

Which society? The ones who live and let live? Or the ones who keep pushing their views on everyone else?
Oh, wait. Is this about this forum?

It may not be about this forum (I am guessing though) however we all have different boundaries no matter what society we live in?
