I thought this might be of help.:|
It isn't to me..... as it is not applicable to what I have concerns about..........
If the posting content or style of a particular member is causing problems for you, there is a feature available to ignore all posted content from that member. This allows you to avoid unwanted or undesirable post
content. You can learn more about this function here:
http://community.ebay.com.au/help.jspa#setprofile
Any posts that explicitly violate the eBay Board Usage Policy
http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/policies/everyone-ov.html
can be reported for review.
To report a post, click the “Report Abuse” link located on every post, and select the violation from the pull-down menu.
Alternatively, you might choose to start an eBay Group
http://community.ebay.com.au/help.jspa#groups
As a Group Leader, you can select either a public or private setting and either allow public participation or limit the membership to a specific subset of friends and
acquaintances which will allow you to restrict the conversation to only those with whom you wish to engage.

It wasn't so much the harmonious environment as it was the way some threads/posts of a despicable or disgusting nature stay here for days, yet a seemingly inane post can go in seconds.
and if you don't like it, start your own group.....yep, brilliant solution..

Could it be that half the problems are coming out of groups? It reminds me of an old off site group that caused enormous problems.

I would think the people who have become members of groups have done so to get away from the constant bullying and unwarranted reporting. Some have used what they perceive to be lovely little pics to disrupt and destroy a thread in order to solicit some perceived response and refuse to stop the bullying behaviour until their needs are met. Some ask " How can anyone have a problem with a lolcat " The pic isn't the problem, it's the manner in which it is used and the bullying that goes with it. Childish schoolyard bullying from adults and egged on by those around them to continue the poor behaviour.
That's the main reason why the CS boards have sadly become very quiet. Folk who post here are becoming fed up with the controlling nature of some.
The folk I refer to will be along shortly to decry my opinion 😉

and of course, there is this
"Least said soonest mended"
meaning a bad situation can be quickly forgotten if people stop talking about it.
apparently so but if the last 2 weeks are anything to go by it is not a solution I am keen on........
some of us have been getting that advice for a lot longer than two weeks....you haven't found it helpful ?
If a place has management and a management process that should be used and work as well as possible rather than the open a group option.
there also seems to be a bit of school yard intimidation whereby some may be made to fear using correct process ? Like the 'dibber dobber' mentality a school yard bully may use to control ?

Goodness Yoda. What on earth made you think I was talking about your group? I was not.
on 12-01-2013 02:22 PM
would it help to ask what 'a reasonable person' may be seen to be within their right to have a problem with ? Even with intent to annoy I don't think lolcats fit that bill ? and could be easily ignored
if one chose to.
I think Az is talking about posts that people do feel should be removed (and quickly) here and the other boards ie; the trading boards however don't seem to be.I understand that concern.
