HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I am growing strawberries in a pot and I had 2 that were so close to picking, perhaps tomorrow even.

Well ants ate my strawberry!!!!

Does anyone know how I can stop them please.

Crystal, I know the feeling well.

I had the same thing happen when I was growing a pot of strawberries.  They seemed to disappear just before ripening.  

Then one day I looked out of the window and saw the dog snatching one and swallowing it.  This wasn't naughty Baloo.  It was naughty Buzz.  He just put it in his mouth and gave it a little tug

Meep, my mint went too but a little while later it popped up in different places.  It had sent out runners so you may get more.

Birds will swipe a ripe strawberry too, and neighbour children( that is what happened to mine once).

Yeah I have ants that eat all my strawberries too. Mine are planted in the ground though so not much I can do.

If you put a ring of salt around your pot, the ants won't cross it.

Slugs will leave a trail... if you don't see the trail then it is not them.. 

my mint is being eaten... they leave the lettuce alone and eat that instead... I think it is caterpillars...

The water tray only needs to be a bit wider than the base of the pot. Crystal.

I'm going to try the tray thanks everyone. Now I need how to get them out of the pot, I'm worried they've found a home in there.
