Re: How low can they go?

He owns the gutter press newspapers.... if he didn't want them printing such articles/headlines as in the opening post, he has the power to not allow them to do so.

If you owned a newspaper empire would you allow them to publish articles like this one?

Re: How low can they go?

Another State paper ran the same pic with the headline "Veil of Secrecy".

Not sure who the paper was but it points to another Murdoch rag.  Equally despicable to make puns about someone missing.

Shame on them and I hope appropriate action has been taken.

I'm pretty sure Emperor Murdoch doesn't even know the Courier Mail is part of his empire and wouldn't have the faintest clue it published this headline.

The head of a publishing empire would rely on his minions to look after remote little outposts like Brisbane Queenland Australia.

I was about to say the same icy,  Murdoch he wouldn't have seen it.   Just to keep it in perspective it's the editor of the paper that should be castigated for it as he certainly saw it and approved of it.  It's cheap and nasty but unfortunately will sell newspapers which says a lot about those who buy it.

Really?  that assumption is just plain silly. Rupert Murdoch knows his papers are 'gutter press'. Which are sold and earn him more income.

As this thread is based on the tragic death/murder of a young woman, I am not going to continue with this line.

You can't be serious.  He has intimate knowledge of all his mastheads and encourages his staff to use the most outrageous of headlines and imagery.

Yes I'm serious.

I don't believe he knows every single headline of every single newspaper on evey single day in every single part of the word.

He doesn't have to. He sets the guidelines  and his editors do what is expected of them.

I'm sure he was quite deliberately unaware of every single thing that went on at the News Of The World. Does that mean the blame for that sordid affair does not ultimately lie with him?

With great power comes (or should come)  great responsibility
