He was born in Australia. He went to the Netherlands to live for a while then returned to Australia.
that's why I don't usually bother to read the news. They all seem to have different details.
says:
"Stanford, described as a quiet, polite, hardworking man who lived in the town with his mother and brother, neighbours say. He moved to Australia from Holland about 12 months ago."
Well try a different news source or two. Newscorpse is the most sensationalised and often the least accurate of the lot, with these types of news stories.
I am not really that interested in 99% of the rubbish that goes on. I only read that from the link someone put up.

So, given that information, he is what? 23 or 25? so not likely he has a history of violent crimes/on parole.

LEIGH SALES, PRESENTER: This statistic is a source of profound shame for our nation: every week, two Australian women are killed by violence - that's 31 so far this year.
Some are targeted in seemingly opportunistic acts like the case of teacher Stephanie Scott, allegedly abducted by a cleaner at her school just days before she was due to be married.
But many, many more are killed by people they know well - husbands, partners, fathers.
Now, around Australia, as more and more people become aware of the extent of violence against women in every suburb and town, there are growing calls for action.

Media Watch gave them a good serve last night - and mentioned the petition. Apparently one of those who complained the loudest was an ex journalist for the Courier Mail who said he had been proud of all his year at the paper, but now felt embarrassed to tell people he had ever worked there.
The paper's response to complaints was that no apology was needed as at the time it went to print there was no confirmation that the victim was not just a 'runaway bride.' (the fact that ALL her family had insisted very publicly that something had to be wrong was apparently irrelevant.)

And the fact that a suspect was being questioned before publication was also irrelevant.

I have that recorded, but I haven 't watched it yet she -ele
Sounds like a pretty arrogant response from what you've said there. He hasn't commented at all about It on his twitter account.

I had to google but the Island is called Nusa Kambangan.
All prisoners transferred to that island are killed, what would you like to call it? holiday Island?
Death Island is appropriate for the mass murders carried out there and Indonesia should be called out for it and their barbaric actions.
Keep it in the public mind and never let them forget it.

It should be called by its correct name. Do you think the population who live and work there like the name Death Island? BTW, it is a holiday island.

Not a place I'd like to go for a holiday. They march the condemned out at midnight into the surrounding bush and shoot them, no romantic walks in that part of the Island I bet.
I'm sure there are thousands lining up, booked ou, to go there for a holiday, said no one ever.
