I could not be bothered with the crowds but I did think I would look for a Samsung Tablet as I have wanted one for a couple of years and looking at the cataloges I found the one I wanted at a great price but I brought it through the web site as even though I will have to wait for it to be posted I thought it may be easier than trying to compete for a limited no in store and perhaps miss out .
In my past experience this is the best time to buy computers for some reason even with the fluctuations in the A$ it seems they are always cheapest in Jan for back to school

I have been to the Boxing Day Sales in Sydneys twice in the last few years. The first time was better, didn't get much the last time.
I find the online Boxing Day sales better (which start on Christmas day at a lot of retailers) with as much as 40% off and you don't even have to leave home.
Today on the car radio I heard that DJ's made $1m in the first hour.
Plenty of people out there still buying in person and online.
In Sydney the smaller high end brand name shops have queues down the street, with security guards monitoring them - only a certain number of customers allowed in the store at one time.

"only a certain number of customers allowed in the store at one time."
Sensible move considering the number of shoplifters around and how hard it is to nail them.

Yep, especially in stores with very high priced stock.
