Hi
I'm wondering if anyone can help me obtain a copy of a certain knitting pattern.
It was a long time ago, but Don Burke wore this jumper / sweater on one of his Burke's Backyard Shows.
The sweater is knitted in shades of cream and brown, with the pattern being in a kind of - broad striped design.
Don Burke still had black hair and beard at that time, so it is an old knitting pattern.
Please click on my ebay I.D and message me if you do have it .
I'm happy to pay for the copy and postage if anyone is prepared to copy it for me.
Thank You

Have you tried contacting the Burkes Backyard website?
They are still in operation and will answer questions even after all this time.

Kaya, I remember that jumper. It was very nice, made by a viewer for him in the style of tree bark, but I don't have the pattern.
If you can make your own design, I have some Knitting Graph paper that I could send you.
Knitting Graphs are different to ordinairy graph paper because knitting stitches are not square and give distorted pictures when used for knitting.

Hello again ladies 🙂
Well I have received a copy of the pattern thank goodness and thanks to a lovely lady on here.
It says on the bottom of the page that the jumper created by Caroline Collerson from Wilberforce in NSW
was printed in The Australian Womens Weekly - April 1992.
When it originally appeared on Burkes Backyard, Channel Nine were swamped with calls from viewers who wanted to know
where they could purchase the jumper.
The designer agreed to to allow her one-off original pattern to be printed in the magazine and worked with Cleckheaton
to change her 12 ply pattern which was homespun in her own yarns into the 8 ply pattern that was then publisised.
It is lovely and the colours are cream, caramel, grey and brown..
If anyone wants a copy, contact me through my I.D with your postal details and I will send you a copy.
Thanks again

Oh yes
The other pattern that I've always wanted was one that I saw years ago on a Perth footballer.
He said he bought it in one of those mens clothing stores.
It was very Australian with large fluffy Koalas on the sleeves. I think it was a limited edition.

Nice to hear that you have got the pattern you wanted. It sure was a long time ago when it was published.
Happy knitting,
Erica

I just googled Australian Women's Weekly and came up with that above. Their covers only date to 1982. It is a trial site. Plenty of Princess Di

Have you tried the UK's 'Family, Homes, and Gardens', OP ?
The place to go for knitting advice. Oh, and any cat related questions.
Might be a good idea to don a Flak jacket, and a hard hat first though. They can be quite vicious if they haven't had their medications.

Carolyn this is a very old thread and is unlikely to be read by many posters.
If you want a copy of the pattern you need to message the poster who offered to copy it....if indeed she is still a member.
