Like Mary Poppins

Geez the winds are so wild here tonight, when I opened  my umbrella getting out of the car, a gust nearly took me up into the tree!

The weathers been wild all day, knocking over trees and downing powerlines.

SES are busy.

Yep, saw it on the news tonight. What devastation? So unusual for this time of the year. Wonder what winter will bring? The only happy people are the ones in the snow fields expecing early business this year.

Take care Icy.

Geez yeah!

It changed from a lovely Sunday morning to a stormy and rainy Sunday afternoon, and the storm's still raging outside tonight, Tuesday.

3 ppl lost their lives in the floodwater up central coast, Dugong. Their house had come off it's moorings and was floating on the floodwaters.

Premier Baird advised everyone to be home before nightfall, and bosses to let ppl home early,  as there is another storm cell expected tonight.

Apparently it's a once-in-decade occurence.

Thanks Erica. I had a good run home, a few street and traffic lights out in one of the suburbs I travel through, Epping, and lots of water over the road, but got home safe and sound. Lots of leaves and branches over the road.

Re: Like Mary Poppins

Second storm cell ended up hitting this morning around 6am, where I'm at. Great thunderclaps and lightning.

Torrential rain and strong winds snapping huge trees like matchsticks falling on houses, roads, cars, buses.

Water running like rivers down driveways and gutter

Sheets of metal blowing off roofs in the city and glass panes swinging loose in their frames.

It's dark like at dusk.

Thousand of homes may have to wait days to get power restored.

Looks like it'll clear this arvo though, there's already a bit of light shining through the clouds

Finally settled down a bit now with a bit of sunlight coming through. There is soooo much damage.

At least I can put my washing out on the balcony to dry now without it all blowing up the street.
