I was expecting Charlie to be the one to go home tonight, but up until the last few minutes, I thought he was the only one that was going to get it completed! I wondered if maybe Elise was going instead.

I think Harry's got a good chance of being in the top 5, if he keeps improving the way he is. He just needs to have a bit more confidence in his ability.

I missed a lot of the show tonight, for personal reasons, but managed to catch the important bits.

Tomorrow I'd like to see Brett get the pin, but it would be nice to see Chloe get it, just because it's not been done before, getting 2.

Great show tonight..see all those techniques.Agree with you tippy re who was going to get it all together at the end? All in the editing.. All three really made a good job of the opportunity, all three did well, but all three made mistakes too.

Sad to see Charlie go, but Im still impressed by him- I think he has real talent, and with training, he could have a good career as a pastry chef. As disappointed as he was, he was still able to articulate that he had found what he wanted to do.. Imagine being told -as he was: by Marco Pierre White when he won the mystery box challenge: 'this without question is the greatest dessert I have ever eaten in Masterchef'..

Wasnt good to see Harry cry..

Must be in the editing, but last night Zoe was prattling on about Maggie

telling her it was the best cheesecake she'd ever eaten.

I rewound twice - she never said that at all.   I think it was what Zoe heard though

I haven't watched tonight's show and I don't think I will.

I really dislike the chef's  **bleep**  ridiculous offerings.

I think from memory, Maggie said that the cheesecake was very silky and using the tofu has given her some ideas. I don't recall her telling Zoe it was the best she'd ever tasted. I guess when they're so wound up like that, they hear all sorts of things that weren't said.

Even if you don't want the episode Stawks, it's still worth watching the first 10 minutes or so to see what they had to create. Then you'll understand why we were shocked that they all managed to pull it off (for the most part).

Why oh why don't these contenstants practice making tempered chocolate? There is ALWAYS something involving that, yet most come into it saying they've never done it.

Know what you mean tippy..its like when contestants are on those home reno shows, and have never painted a wall, or used a powerdrill..

Its all relative- No one (viewers) expects them to know everything about food and cooking, but, most of them say this is their chief interest in life 'Its my passion' and this is season 8, surely you would practice? making tempered chocolate, pastry, panna cotta, just practicing and researching- there even lots of videos on utube, to show techniques and recipes..I cant understand it.

(was not impressed the other night when Heather asked Matt how to turn on the small blowtorch..maybe she didnt know that like most electrical appliances, theres a switch)

Wow, over the top dessert.

But impressed with the efforts made.

I like the way Harry cooks, he seems to have a real chef's mentality with a little cheekiness.

I feel the same too. I've said from the start that Harry "looks" like a chef. Not that a chef really has any particular look, but I could see him more wearing a chef uniform than a pair of overalls working under a car. Even more so when he's got his man bun happening.

I think tonight was rigged with Chloe getting into the second round. I think the boys did a much better job. Trent's seemed to rate higher with the judges than Brett, but I still think theirs were better than Chloe's. Maybe they were trying to see if she could make history?

Very obvious which dish belonged to whom and glad Chloe didn't get a second pin.

Would make it too one-sided.

I actually thought Chloe's pastry and techniques were slightly better than Trent's in the eclair and feel she deserved the win there.

But I don't think Chloe has the versatility to go all the way.

It was a bit hard deciding which eclair was best.    But it made me want one, or more

I don't understand why Chloe had trouble with her meringue.

I do wish she'd stop swaying like a 3 yo though

And, of course the judges knew who made what

In Melbourne Chinatown with Kylie Kwong, what fun.

Looks like both teams have not realized the logistics involved in their menu's.

And the small space they need to serve 1000 people in.

I'm liking yellow team but their differences could cause a hic up.
