I like Masterchef better than the other cooking comps.
Great way to start this season rather than the mass single tasks they used to do.
Now every hopeful contestant gets 1 hour to cook a dish tasted by the 3 judges.
With second chance contestants cooking for a blind tasting.
24 contestants get an apron.

I knew Ben's back story. Still don't like him not impressed.
Replicate a dish without a recipe. Not easy.
This is a dessert so Jess should be ok.
I think Samira will have a problem reading the cryptic clues in the critique.

Only a little surprised? That was blatant out and out favouritism!!
My jaw dropped.
Any other year, even one element left off the plate and that person was gone.
And Azerbaijan wasn't mentioned until the very end of the show. 
The dessert they were trying to replicate looked like something my cat heaved up.
Just sayin'.
Thinking about it, even though 2 elements were left off, Samira also had an element left off and she totally didn't realise to put agar agar or gelatine in another so it was a puddle of mess.
So overall Ben probably followed the recipe closer and his other elements were good as well as the plating was probably the one that looked the most similar.
Samira had runny slop and put slices of mandarin around the plate. Looked very amateur.
Yeah the two of them were there for a reason.
Ben won't be far behind and Chloe I suspect won't last long.
I think she is more interested in returning home anyway.

It did, didn't it!!
That's obviously the modern way, you make something then you break the whole thing up and strew it across a plate, till it looks like leftovers at the end, not the plate at the start of a meal.
I thought Samira might be for the chop, if not last night, then soon, as the cameras haven't been on her much.
Khanh, sashi, Jess -one of them to win would be my guess.
I'm a bit surprised Ben is still there, he seems to make quite a few mistakes.
Don't forget Reece, he's a contender. I think maybe he is more of a chance than Sashi.
