Great to see some earlier faces and good memories.

I always liked Jess, Callum, and Reynold.

Very smart to have Gordon Ramsay kick it off seeing as the old judges are no longer with the show.

Looks like some interesting recipes to start off with.

Hope he wins. There aren't many chefs in the house who can match him on a bad day. He's even been throwing in excellent savoury dishes.

Ben was notably absent on Thursday night. He's gone. There have been no reports of why he was arrested, just that he was. It wouldn't surprise me if it was to do with roids or something. Only speculating, and hoping for his sake it was nothing to serious (could even be something as simple as unpaid fines, or not attending jury duty)

Police Called

In what is probably the biggest controversy to rock the show, contestant Ben Ungermann was arrested midway through filming the season.

“It was awful,” says the insider. “No-one could have imagined something like that would ever happen.”

News of Ben’s arrest over a personal matter was revealed last month, with a spokesperson for Endemol Shine telling the Herald Sun: “We can confirm Ben Ungermann has left the MasterChef Australia competition,” they said, adding: “As this is a police matter, we will not be making further comment.”

Such a shame, he is a good cook and nice person.

Seems I was wrong. Ben was seen in last night's episode.

Filming is done well in advance so we probably haven't reached the episodes after his arrest.

Dani is gone, I always thought she was continually scraping through so no big loss.

Edit - Then on the other hand maybe you saw the other Ben.

No, it was Ben Ungermann.   He's still on.

I don't think they kicked him off until the social distancing came in, so a while to go yet.

Gee Dani fell in a hole.

I'm still an episode behind.

I'm also happy, very happy, with the new judges.

They don't seem so full of themselves as the others were.

Melissa, I was surprised to find out, is 40 years old.

I find her quite lovely.

It's not a convocation of equals, though.

Jock seems to be Chief Judge. The last lot at least presented a facade of equality.

I see on social media people complaining that Jock is showing favouritism towards Laura.

Because she used to work for him.

Someone said if she served him up a plate of rocks, he'd rave about it.

I tend to agree on that one.
