Masterchef 2020

Anyone watching it ?

Great to see some earlier faces and good memories.

I always liked Jess, Callum, and Reynold.

Very smart to have Gordon Ramsay kick it off seeing as the old judges are no longer with the show.

Looks like some interesting recipes to start off with.

Re: Masterchef 2020

Where they took away the recipes?

I'd be like Poh, frazzled and wondering if i could even recall what the original dish looked like, let alone what was left to cook.Smiley Very Happy

Or like Amina whose meringue broke in half.

Meanwhile, back at the springy ranch, tonight it will be something complicated like shepherd's pie for dinner and a self saucing pudd. Nothing with 1001 steps in it, that's for sure.Smiley Wink

I'd be frazzled too. I like doing things methodically.

Oooo, sheperds pie sounds great on a cold night.

Re: Masterchef 2020

I was at work tonight. I saw the main mystery box opened, then the first mini box opened with the figs. Then my break was over. What was in the tiny mystery box? Who were the top 5?

Re: Masterchef 2020

I didn't see the reveal of the small mini box but I think it was lemon myrtle because everyone seemed to use it and I don't remember it in the main box.

Spoiler
The 5 were - Sarah T, Poh, Reece, Simon, Reynold.  (I think............from memory). Smiley Very Happy

Poh. Took 75 minutes to not cook anything, just fronted with a plate of raw scampi, fruit and vegetables.

Just like her season when she got into the finale with a poor attempt at a croquembouche. I don't know what the judges see in her - she is a prima donna.

Re: Masterchef 2020

She is so often firing on 7 cylinders, not being able to deliver.

And always comes up with a reason to fail.

She is a great cook just not a Masterchef.

(Had it a little easy since her fame me thinks)

Re: Masterchef 2020

I'm not a Katy Perry fan, but she was an embarrassment to herself. I don't think she could have been a bigger d1ckhead if she tried. I wouldn't have expected her to carry on like she did. I had a number of eye roll moments.

I thought Reece was going to pee himself. He was like a teenage girl at an early  Justin Beiber concert. I knew he'd be like that the instant they said who it was.

I was hoping given Katy's reaction, that he'd have won tonight. I'm not a fan of Sarah, but she also deserved to win over Poh. I don't mind Poh, but I think the other 2 did better.

I think Poh's saving grace was that Katy said she is craving spicy stuff with this pregnancy.

I guess it remains to be seen on Sunday if Poh plays the immunity pin. Given she has been in the bottom 3 a number of times, she'd be crazy not to. She doesn't want to be the second person this season to go home with an immunity pin still stuck to her chest.

Did anyone watch the Masterclass? I absolutely freaking want some of that Vietnemese glazed pork. OMG, it looks so sticky and yum!

I would also like to see an episode where whats her face doesn't cook pasta. Even though I am a pasta junkie, I'd really like to see her cook something different.
