Ties right in with the recognised problems of corruption on our ports and airline freight industries by trade unions. Undoubtably the private security industry would need to work closely with the trade union movement to facilitate this illegal activity. Perhaps these close links to militant unions helps us to understand why Dan Andrews made the fateful decisions to entrust international quarantine oversight to the private security industry.

There is a faction of thought out there , amongst all levels of influence , that seeks no or limited mitigation and open international borders - fortunately for whatever reason this was successfully resisted with resultant only dreamed of total or near total eradication - with soon unfetted national freedom of movement and commerce
A few with ethical leverage can make a disproportionate difference

Spoken like a true liberal and just as bad as someone else by posting an out of date link and changes were made and implemented since then and most of that link centres on NSW.
Plus you missed.
The vast majority of companies and individuals working in the private security industry are legitimate and provide an excellent service to the Australian community.

an interesting article from the Age on lockdown protesters
"And they are not stopping. In online groups littered with references to the QAnon "deep state" paedophile conspiracy theory, they are urging their followers to keep going."

From that article -
Independent researcher Cam Smith, who hosts a podcast on conspiracy theories, says other agendas were bubbling below the surface of anti-lockdown discussions, including the "sovereign citizen" movement.
The movement, which originated in the US in the 1970s, has links to anti-Semitism and has been described by the FBI as "domestic terrorism". "Sovereign citizens" see themselves as separate to the law. Some have been responsible for violence, including murder.
Some protesters could be heard yelling "I don't consent" at police during the recent Melbourne protests and using words such as "tyranny" to describe Victoria's state of disaster declaration, which was lifted after 124 days on November 8.
Mr Smith says many protesters in Australia would be unaware of the ideology behind the language they are using, which is often picked up from the internet. But in online forums they believe to be private, some talk in violent and specific terms.
"They are talking about treason and they are talking about hanging people and pulling people out of their houses," he says. "It just takes one person to see this rhetoric flying around and act on it."
And yet there's more than one poster who says they are harmless, and just standing up 'for their Sovcits rights'

It would certainly help robbers be less conspicuous.

I've been hearing recent discussion about QAnon and that it may actually be controlled opposition or even a PSY-OP or a type of COINTELPRO operation. Well, I don't lnow. But if it were to come out in the wash sometime later that QAnon was one of these then I would not be surprised at all. What I do know about QAnon is that it is a fantasy trip for a lot of people. There's a certain amount of truth which is mixed in with nonsense and misleading stuff. If there was a way to tie people up and put them on the wrong track then this would be it. Whether it's a deliberate insertion into the feeling of dissatisfaction that people have with their governments or something that came about by itself, I can see two obvious things. It's not going to do the people any good because it is a fake movement. And the greedy crooks who have influenced politics since the beginning of time are rubbing their hands together.
With the protests there are a lot of good people out there with valid concerns that range from mobile phone radiation and "vaccination the right to choose" to concerns about their businesses and livelihood going down the tube. I believe that this is the significant portion of the protesters. Then along comes this QAnon and gets everyone tarred with the same brush.
It's also sad that some folks still think that corruption only exists in countries where the skin of the people is a darker shade than white or ones that have funny looking letters in their words.

A friend had to have their nose removed some months ago. He had had many incidences of skin cancer but this one was a bad one and between that operation and the one to reconstruct a new nose was a two week wait.
He did mostly stay home during that time, but when he needed to go out the mask was perfect. I did tell him it was good timing
He's all good now and looks great.
