It was probably caused by the 5G phone radiation, the vaccinations, Mabo, the vibe, but probably the phone radiation thing, because according to some people here, it's going to destroy the world (so was 4G, 3G and 2G before that, but I digress).
My husband lost his whole voice box and now breathes through a hole in his neck. When he goes to the hospital, he has to wear a mask (as does everyone that enters a hospital in NSW). There is no mention of covering the breathing hole in his neck! They are very insistant that he wears one, even though he can't breathe through his nose and mouth. It's all for show.
Glad to hear your friend is doing well, and has a good reconstruction. One really has to take their hat off to the highly skilled people that make that happen. Hopefully he can still taste food. I imagine the masks were a blessing for him, and others like him. Even before Covid, I saw people at the clinic with masks on, that had no nose. It gave them some dignity, and the strength to go out in public. Sometimes masks are a good thing!
