This landed in my letterbox a couple of days ago. Xs are of course for privacy. 

Dear Neighbour, 

My name is Txx and my wife    Kxxx   and our 4 kids live at xxxxxxxxxxxxx  Ave.

During these uncertain times we just wanted to let anyone  in our local area know that we are here to help in any way

we can  (eg to source groceries, provide a meal or just to have a yarn with)

Look after yourself and please let us know if we can do anything to be of assistance.

Wish some one would cook for me I am over it 🙂

I have my ex daughter inlaw to do shopping for me she is lovery, BUT I want to leave the house to do my own, it is only a short drive up the road and I dont want to get stir crazy.

If I go to the beach I will have to walk, think I could make it there getting back may be a problem

My mums neighbour offered to get them the paper this morning,she likes to read it while having breakfast. They have offered to get them groceries as well if they needed.

They gave them the money and waited. 4 hours later gave them a call and they where at the beach working out and had totally forgotten.

Hopefully your neighbour doesn't have short term memory issues.

My lovely neighbor also offered to help wih shopping.  But my daughter and granddaughter are coming to stay in the cabin in the back of my garden.  Thankfully my daughter can work from home, and my spinach and silver beet are growing like mad.  All what we need is couple of chooks and a goat and we are set.  LOL

My mother got a similar letter left in her letterbox.  It also mentioned that the wife had started a FB group for residents on the street.  Mum is not on the internet though.

I wouldn't mind that kind of offer of help in my street.

Zan I reckon there would be a large amount of kind people who would like to assist others but they are wary (rightly imo)  of close contact with strangers.
