Re: Nom nom nom

I used to get shanks for Jack the Dingbat dog. I could only do it while OH was away though, otherwise he would fight the dog for the shank!

I have found that all the beef I have bought from woolies recently has a vinegary smell to it.  Vinegar is a trick they use on meat that is past its use by date. Smiley Frustrated

Tonight  (when hubby gets home) we are having grilled porterhouse steak with mashed spud, sweet potato and peas. I have just made the yummiest sauce to go with it. Mushroms and onions sauteed in butter with coarse ground peppercorns, seasalt, garlic and bacon. Then I added cream and let it reduce. It is really, really  yummmmmmmm

hmmmm

I will remember that vinegar trick, thanks Kelso. The beef I buy is from Woolies but so far, it has been fresh and delicious. Roast beef tonight, roast potatoes with tarragon and a glass of burgundy.

She'll have you for that.  I'd run if I were you.

Re: Nom nom nom

Thanks for the introduction, Poddy.

Now we may get a few new recipes to try? Getting tired of same old things, and I hate cooking. Something new may inspire me again.
