Old Chinwag Craft Board Block Swap 2007

Sometime in early 2007, the Craft Board quilters got together and organised a Block Swap. We had to design and prepare enough blocks to make a quilt for ourselves, provide the first block completed and send the package on to the other crafty people in the swap.
We each completed a block in everyone's set.
My quilt was for my grandsons' bedroom in my home. I set a theme of teddy bears and boy's toys.
Most of these quilts have been finished for some time....... but.... I could not make a decision on how to do mine until recently.
I learned so much in that year and can't thank everyone who was involved enough! My applique skills are much improved.
So, thank you ♥

I have also sewn the labels of the blockmakers onto the back of the quilt, behind the relevant blocks.
I made mine into a quillow, a quilt that folds into a pillow, so one of the blocks is on the back of the quilt and when folded into it, becomes a pillow.
My 3 yo grandaughter looked at it and said "Gran, that is brilliant" and that is a good recommendation, so I have to thank everyone who was involved.

Very nice, love the colours.
Is this the same one (daughter) who had the last one you put up pics of? the pink one?
Amber.... not stupid..... I was not sure I did it right ...... can never recall which one to use, lol.
The more I looked at that pic, the less I liked it.... so I am redoing it.....

pieceful, really? You're making another? I think it is lovely! What will you do with the one you have already made?

I almost finished another quilt top this weekend, very fast and easy pattern, most satisfying after all the stoofing around I have done with the last one. Talk about unpicking.....

Lifechange, love the colours in the quilt, it's really great.

I bet the room will look amazing for the new additiion.

And you are right about jumping to conclusions. Sorry, just been so much bp'ing lately even on the most non-controversial threads.

Seems that some people can't even leave the amicable threads alone.

I am glad that wasn't the case here.

Hi Keeli....I have made another, pinned and ready to quilt... pic later...my sis says the first one is nicer but I may just sell it as a top on ebay........ I cannot bear to spend time quilting it if I am not going to like it.
The fabrics are kind of vintage designs? I bought them as a fat quarter pack so was surprised at the result...I am not good with colours.

Hi pieceful, I know what you mean about spending time quilting something you don't really like,,,,. I am really struggling at the moment to finish and quilt a double top I made a month or so ago.

Nothing wrong with it, it's just that I did it to learn to do different blocks (sampler) and love some of the fabric, but the colours are very traditional and don't really inspire me.

So on the advice of the quilt shop ladies I am just quilting one block per day and then going on to do something I actually like doing, so I'll get it finished eventually.

Have you sold many on ebay?

You always seem to have a houseful of kids there!

Must be great fun:-)

Things are much better in my house now, the break did us all good and I have rearranged the house a bit now so have all of the front half of the house to myself.

lol, I have lost track how many.... the first was a quilt, finished. The rest have all been my "try" ones... patterns I see and love but no real use for it?
Uploading pics now.......

Bet you are really neat though.

Couldn't sell mine unfinished, they'd see the dodgy stitching LOL
