Paying for Funeral

I decided to open a bank account and put money aside to pay for my funeral.

When I mention it to people most of them say "But you would die for years yet."

Today Tony said "So you can't die before you have saved up enough money "

Tony thinks like me.

What is so strange is my daughter and I were talking about my funeral arrangements today.....well, I was talking and she was in denial.

But, it's something that all seniors need to be thinking about.   Daughter just thinks it's macabre.

I think it is an excellent idea to have funds sets aside. We took out a whole of life policies 40 years ago, it keeps pace with inflation, and the bonuses are a lot more than the $140.00 p.a premium.

Yes I agree most younger people, especially your children don't want to talk about it.   My son said "But mum you won't die for years yet.

When my father passed away 3 years ago, we (son, daughter and wife) sat around and looked at each other. We had no idea what he would have wanted because HE wouldn't talk about it. In the end we did what we thought he would want. Seems unsatisfactory even now. Did he want cremation or burial? Who knows. 😞

My inlaws had both got paid up funerals with the undertakers, my father in law has got everything down to the nitty gritty which I think is slightly off, when I say nitty gritty I mean nitty gritty as in funeral notice ect.

My DIL hates us to ever mention anything to do with us no longer being here.

A dear friend (After he had been diagnosed with the early stage of dementia) asked me to be executive for his will, and I when with him to the funeral parlour for him to arrange his funeral which he paid for.  Yes he had it down to the last detail.  He wanted a private funeral and even had invitations ready to be sent out.  Yes it was a bit scarey.
