Coronavirus Care Army raises alarm after 80yo woman falls and breaks hip, trapped in house for days
isnt this how police should be shown in news stories
and not the stories of thuggery and lawlessness we often see.

This so-called "carer" (who obviously didn't care) should have been monitored more closely by the agency she was employed by.
Did the poor woman who died so horribly have any family to intervene? Or did they not care either, leaving it to an agency to employ ppl to :"care?
One newspaper report on the weekend noted she lived in a very nice house in a very expensive suburb. The article noted the house was built for her to live in by her parents. ( photos show a 1980,s - 90,s style house ) I haven't seen any mention of siblings.
My guess is her parents probably loved her very much but given the women's age are either no longer here or are unable to care for her due to their own infirmity.
I Suspect it is just one of the tragedies that occur when a couple have a child with severe disability and they then die or are no longer able to care for their adult disabled child. Cases such as these including 80 year old parents trying to care for disabled adults are occurring constantly. Hopefully in time the NDIS will do a better job of taking care of this difficult social issue.

She lived alone in the house since 2009, when her parents died.
She has a brother but had not been in contact for a long time, Superintendent Bray said.
A very nice house and looks well kept - on the outside.

I agree.
It is not an insurmountable responsibility for those who have put themselves (and are paid to do) in the position of carers, whether family or not.
How could such appalling neglect, not to mention sheer cruelty, occur when it is the duty and job of those given the privilege, (which in my opinion is a privilege) of taking proper care of someone who clearly could not take care of herself?
It leaves me speechless and heartsick. The poor lady deserved so much better; some love, attention, communication, caring company and tenderness; not left in the hell of inhumane indifference, misery and death.

i'm sure the CEO of integrity care SA lives in a very nice house too
might need to remove 'integrity' and 'care' from the company title now?
new title, we motto, 'we take ya money and let you die in your own excriment'
every person being 'cared' for by this company requires an urgent visit from ambos to access their condition.
this company need going over with a fine tooth comb to see just whats going on.

i can just imagine the blurb selling these private care businesses
trust us, we go that extra mile for your loved one.
cept when no one is looking they drop the ball
we saw the carp going on in aged care and that was with eyes everywhere watching what was going on.
here we have a business who puts a carer on the job then forgets about the client as long as the carer says all is good!
if they are even asked?
they say she was in this condition for at least a year!
where are her medical records, she had to be on medications.
was someone dishing out meds without ever seeing her?

that poor lady had been left for dead for a YEAR!!
I can`t and never will understand the pain and suffering that lady went thru....OMG

This made m sick to the stomach. It reads like the script for a horror movie, unbelievable in this day and age.
Police have now opened a manslaughter investigation alongside a coronial inquiry.
Detective Superintendent Des Bray said her death had been declared a major crime.
The carer should be strung up.

Ann Marie Smith's carer identified, with criminal lawyer Stephen Ey hired
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-05-20/ann-marie-smith-carer-identified-as-rosa-maione/12264460
as much as i'm very angry/sad about this event i believe the name of the carer should have remained private until the investigation was completed and charges laid.
unless naming her was to help the investigation somehow.
once she is charged shes fair game for media and anyone else to talk about and speculate.
the company who hired her is my main target for scruitine
how can you not do health checks on your clients at least monthly regardless of what your on site employee says?
someone should be tasked with going to the home and doing a check that all is well
as for the carer, now her life could be in danger.
plenty of crazies who might want to fix her little red wagon out there.

Her employers have found her guilty as she has been sacked for 'serious misconduct'.
No sympathy from me.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider Integrity Care has been fined $12,600 for failing to report the death of Adelaide care recipient Ann Marie Smith.
Is this all her life was worth? I'm horrified.
