So..... you were going to vote YES......

Then you got a bee in your bonnet over the actions of a couple of small  SSM groups, but fail to recognise that the Anti-SSM groups have been playing a dirty game too.

So now you have decided to NOT vote.

I will respect anyone's decision to vote NO...

I will respect anyones decision to vote YES....

...but to chuck a wobbly and say *i'm not voting now*  is just as equivilant as a childish tantrum IMO  Man Indifferent

If you dont want to give your YES vote to the poorly behaved minority SSM group that has obviously caused you some serious grief, then do it for your gay friends you claim to have!
Show them your respect by helping them through YOU having YOUR SAY on this survey.

After all, this survey is not about you.. Its about them!

I voted and returned it already. It's of no consequence to me what other people choose to do as regards marriage, none of my business really.

I think it should be legal for everyone.......................or no one.

The gay friends I have are not all steamed up about the vote and havnt got any plans to get " Married" . They have both been married before and have children of their own. They have lived together for years, own a very nice property together and although they are both public servents, they are not interested in all of the PC, militant, equel rights for pink elephants rubbish that some others seem to get all hot and bothered about.

Basically they are happy to do their own thing, live a nice comfortable life together and are not worried about changing everyone else and the world in general.   Thats pretty much the same as my attitude. Hence my decision to stay right out of the SSM vote and leave everyone else to fight and squabble over it.

At the end of the day, the survey is just an expensive, non binding bit of political theatre that the pollies can choose to completely ignore if they wish.

Mine has gone off in the post.

The only thing I refused to do was lick the envelope - cheapskates - used the kitchen sponge.

By not even bothering to vote - even though we are all paying for it - certainly makes it a waste - more so.

IMO - of course.

Exactly   .... it would appear if you vote YES, you are criticised, if you vote NO you are criticised, if you choose the third option and choose not to vote, you are STILL criticised lol

I totally agree with that statement.  It is not even a binding "vote";   indeed, it cannot even be legitmately called a 'vote'.  It is a survey that ultimately means nothing (other than the outrageous cost) as the government keeps insisting it is just an opinion divided society is entitled to give with an X marking in a box.   It was (entitled) anyway, just not by attempting to make society do their job for them;   what a farce ...  Woman LOL
