The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) has just completed a detailed review of more than 7,000 clinical studies covering links between diet and cancer. Its conclusion is rocking the health world with startling bluntness: Processed meats are too dangerous for human consumption. Consumers should stop buying and eating all processed meat products for the rest of their lives.

processed meats increase the risk of pancreatic cancer by 67 percent. Another study revealed that every 50 grams of processed meat consumed daily increases the risk of colorectal cancer by 21 percent
To be avoided:

Why does that not surprise me?
on 09-12-2013 05:20 PM
I will never stop eating bacon. Its a staple!!!!

It doesn't suprise me either...
One day they will say the same for all grain products. Since I gave up all grain products I have lost weight and kept it off.
I can eat just about anything.. butter, full cream milk etc just so long as I don't eat grains
That suits me, it's so easy.
It also means I don't like to buy tinned foods and very rarely processed meats.
Oh how much we have been dragged into believing all the foods in this modern world are safe.. they aren't...
If you keep to fresh meat, fish, veges and fruit you'll be fine

perhaps we should not eat anything at all..............

You can, but, if you eat processed meats and get pancreatic cancer, you will
live longer, chuckle

I'm with you tara. Never, ever buy fresh from the 'fresh food people'
I have had food poisoning from their roast chooks. They argue that
chicken doesn't have to be thoroughly cooked. They're going to do
some serious damage to someone with that attitude.
Looking at the list again, I don't really eat any processed meat.
