How tragic that these two innocent people had to lose their lives because of the actions of this misfit. Sending thoughts to families and friends. I have heard that the young man was attempting to disarm the bloke holding them.

Yes he kept him busy whilst others escaped, and the girl died protecting her pregnant friend.
