I just read this article from Sydney Morning Herald;
An independent review announced on Tuesday will advise Education Minister Simon Birmingham on whether the program's material is "age appropriate" by mid-March.
The issue dominated discussion in Tuesday's behind-closed-doors meeting of Coalition MPs and senators.
In the meeting, Liberal senator Cory Bernardi called for the $8 million program to be defunded because he was concerned it was being used to "indoctrinate children into a Marxist agenda of cultural relativism".
Senator Bernardi added he believed the program was prematurely sexualising children, saying he was concerned young people were being instructed how to hide their breasts or **bleep**. He told Fairfax Media he had collected 9500 signatures in a petition from "concerned Australians" in less than a week.

Does anyone know much about the framework for this programme? I thought this safe schools programme was about eradicating bullying etc.

I know you are right, but what I am refering to is to educate the educators to teach the children the right way of thinking.
It is 65 years since I left School and started working. Lots of things have changed since then and so has education.
I realised the differences from my childrens School days to my grandchildren and now my great-grandchildren. It's alright for teachers to have their own opinion, but don't impose that way of thinking on a whole class of children.
That's what I am objecting to.

That would be great wouldn't it? And I do understand exactly what you are saying. But post modern ways of thinking can somewhat blur the line between right and wrong. And in our diverse society whats "right" for some will actually be "wrong" for others...

Maybe the parents should attend the classes first. So that they may become educated too.
Perhaps reading the Safe School Site may inform of the aims.

Given this, in 2014, the Abbott government launched the Safe Schools Coalition - an initiative conceived under the previous Labor government to stop the bullying of LGBTI students (who make up at least 10 per cent of the school population).

you mean why the investigation?
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has requested an investigation into a taxpayer-funded program aimed at helping lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and/or intersex (LGBTI) school students.
The Safe Schools education program is set to be reviewed following fierce criticism from some Coalition backbenchers.
According to its website, the Safe Schools Coalition offers resources and support to equip staff and students with "skills, practical ideas and greater confidence" to create a safe and inclusive environment for same-sex attracted, intersex and gender diverse students, staff and families.
But some Coalition MPs have been agitating against the program, saying it raises sexual issues which are inappropriate for teenagers and young children.
Education Minister Simon Birmingham has written to state and territory education ministers, asking them to confirm that parents are being consulted before schools introduce the scheme.
The review of the program's material and its use is expected to be completed by mid-March, little more than a year before its funding agreement with the Commonwealth expires.
In a statement, Senator Birmingham said homophobia "should be no more tolerated than racism, especially in the school environment".
"However, it is essential that all material is age appropriate and that parents have confidence in any resources used in a school to support the right of all students, staff and families to feel safe at school," he said.
