"CHANNEL Ten show The Project has been forced to apologise after a guest inadvertently outed Santa Claus as a fake, prompting hundreds of parents to complain.
There were no doubt countless awkward conversations in living rooms across the country when comedian Kitty Flanagan made the declaration not once, but twice, that Santa doesn’t exist."
Is it OK to lie to kids?

Frankly, I believe Kitty is a fake comedian.

What do you mean, Santa isn't real?

My Mother (and her family) didn't believe in the Santa Claus myth. I was never led to believe it.
Didn't do me any harm .. we still got presents Visited Santa in stores and got lollies... you don't have to believe to get the benefits.
edit: We (bros & sister) were told not to tell other kids Santa wasn't real.. and we didn't. At least I didn't, others were older than me so don't know what they got up to).
My eldest child was suss about Santa when she was about 4yo. Didn't see how reindeer could stay up in the sky and how Santa could get around the whole world in one night. She wasn't a believer either.

Mine was not very old when in town she noticed one in every store.
Well, there it was - out - she asked - I told her - not that they were as the usual story goes - Santa's helpers.
She was not disappointed & I asked her not to spoil it for any of her friends who still thought the guy real.
She didn't.

When my youngest was about 8, she broke it to me gently that Santa wasn't real and that it was me who put the presents under the tree, then she said that she'd give me one more year to belive in Santa. My eldest said that it was in her best interests to believe in Santa.

Should be ashamed of yourself.
Look what you have done.

I pointed this faux pas out to the easter bunny, the tooth fairy, and Jesus, who were all visiting at the time.........they were crushed.
