Re: The did you know thread!

Did you know that a well known chain of supermarkets (Iceland) in the UK now sell Kangaroo, Ostrich, and Crocodile Burgers ?

How gross is that ? I bet even you Ozzies haven't stooped that low.

How is that gross. Kangaroo meat tastes great and is healthy. Crocodile tastes great too. I don't know about ostrich meat but I've eaten emu also great. Only someone with a closed mind wouldn't be open to new culinary experiences.

Re: The did you know thread!

You're right, our supermarket only sells kangaroo burgers.  We don't have ostriches.

Did you mean Emu?   All three meats are low in fat and very healthy.

Kangaroo is stocked at the local supermarkets.  So yes, we do eat them.

You would lose that bet...except for the Ostrich... our local supermarket sells kangaroo and camel burgers as well as crocodile steaks and sometimes even emu burgers...and until you have tried them how can you say *baarf*

Anyway that is a bit pot/kettle...what about that American tv show where they eat rats...also my American brother in law assures me that bear, moose and squirrel are good eating.

Re: The did you know thread!

That at the end if WWII millions of tonnes of unused munitions were dumped in the ocean. Three of these munitions dumps are in Australian waters (well three know). One not far south of Portland. All these munitions are so rusted that the toxic contents are mow leaching into the water. It won't be too long from now that all seafood will contain enough of these chemicals to be having an effect on those that eat it. All seafood now contains micro particles of plastic.

In Australia, there are more kangaroos than people.

Well I'm surprised to hear that, since discovering that you lot like to eat the things.
