What colour undies are you wearing today?
Do you have a favourite brand/style/colour?

I do not know what old women wore in the sixties, but young women wore not much different from some undies today. I have bever seen an item like that.

bootiful
my Nana's weren't that fancy.
I think she got them from a catalogue, and they were made out of that thermal type stuff that you also got vests and spencers in.

I remember witches britches. They were a fun thing we wore with our mini-skirts. I think.

My other grandmother wore humongous bonds cottontails, the ones that come up nearly to your armpits
ok, I exaggerate, her undies came up to my armpits, but probably only to her bellybutton

Actually, that piccie above is the exact same ones I'm referring. I had the red ones too. But had to have navy or black for school.
The need for them in the cold winter prior to pantyhose. I was early teens.
Thick grey school stockings with garters, smalls, and the witches britches went over all. Good for under the itchy serge tunic.
Thank you.

After googling I see that they originated in NZ. They never made it to Queensland. Perhaps only in the colder areas (no pun intended).

Icy it was what our mothers wanted us to wear under our mini skirts. I'm not talking mini. I'm not talking mini mini. Some girls took it to the extreme - mini, mini, mini.
The saying " you could see what she had for breakfast" was around at that time.

the ones I was thinking of were Damart ones. Nana's were loose and baggy and I'm really regretting getting started on this topic, with the memories and mental images now going through my head *shudder*
