WA Election

Apparently it's looking like a landslide victory for Labour.

And then there will only be two Liberal states left.

i know its a way off yet but south australia labor will struggle next election.

luckily for them the south oz liberals are pathetic.

the western oz lib/nats kept saying 'look at all the things we built'

but they havent paid for all those things, the people have a huge bill.

south oz is in a similar position, labor keep building things but are creating a huge debt. the westies have a chance the stuff they dig up and sell will return to a money maker. south oz has i pretty fixed income.

The choices for voters in SA are downright scary. We have a grossly incompetent Labor government that has run out of puff and nearly bankrupted the state and an invisible Liberal party. The S.A Liberals have spent so long in the political wilderness that you wonder if there is enough talented people left who would even know what to do, if through some miracle they actually won government.

The next SA. election will probably prove to be very fertile ground for Nick Xenephon and his new party.

i see the biggest problem with south australia is it doesnt matter who is in govt, we dont have any really big money making enterprises here, no big deposits of anything the world will beat our door down to buy.

so where does any state govt in SA get the cash to run the state without borrowing?

and its only going to get worse i feel.

as for the libs, instead of dreaming up building new airports out in the sticks maybe they should be comming up with inovative ideas to cure our power problems. but all they ever do is complain 'oh the labor mob are doing it all wrong'

if they win the next election i wonder just how exactly they will get the money to do anything without doing it just the way labor are now.

i guess they could raise taxes. or sell something, but whats left?

Hate to say it but SA seems to be going down the gurgler atm   ..... not sure any major policital party can save it unless they get a huge injection of much needed $$$$$

We arrived in the 1970's, I heard my father and others say ever since, South Australia is the only state to be losing money.

I think if we look at stats, that has been the case and one of the reasons The Grand Prix was placed in S.A. in 1985.

The structure of S.A. is nobly environmentally friendly, but it means costly on the balance sheet.

Maybe the balance sheet is not as important. Smiley Wink
