WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

Today’s:

Wordle 1,632 3/6

The eliminator narrowed it down to one REAL likely answer.

🟨 LIONS

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 FLUTE 🎯

The field was not bad after the starter; I had a good feeling about solving this quickly. The eliminator was ideal. Admittedly there was another possible solution other than fluteglute – but it was an abominable abbreviation and I banished it from my sight. 🤣

I solved this in the very early hours… and I hardly remember any of it! I do recall utile; I remember thinking it was more of an “Extreme” word.

Wait… I can recall abide. I recall thinking how glad I was that it was I rather than O - no abode/adobe dilemma.

Hmm… still thinking… I also recall bench, and that it couldn’t be belch because mould had ruled it out.

I don’t remember anything else. I must have fallen asleep, and the washerwoman attending Slumber rinsed my musings away.

I played this Extreme just now.

Octordle was trying to fool me… It was a final word showdown at the OK Corral.

I thought truce more likely than trice, and it was worth risking. But after that, nothing was sufficiently clear to move forward: eliminator time. Well, that gave me SPI__, which meant N or K. I opted for N, and it was right… but was thinking “It wouldn’t surprise me if K appears in 4L, but don’t go jumping in just yet; let’s see if M, D or V are eliminated first”.

Thanks to the N, anyway, I knew 2R (notch), and that gave me 3R (haunt)… and with vaunt, gaunt, jaunt and daunt ruled out, another thought whispered “It could well be that 4L is shave, and Octordle is taunting with the V. Wait, wait.”

With T a green in 3rd position, 1L was clearly not rebut or anything of that sort; I now knew it must be utter. 4L was either sally or sadly. I was more drawn towards sadly as it was more likely and it would also confirm the presence/absence of D in 3L. Correct guess, and D was ruled out.

4R was our old friend allay.

And here we were at the final word. Remaining contenders shake, shame, shave. I could have played mikva as an eliminator to be sure of the answer, but I knew I wasn’t going to. No, I was playing my hunch - shake - and fortune smiled.
