I realised yesterday, that while I like minced beef I know very few recipes for it:
Spag bol
Stuffed capsicums
Meat loaf
Meatballs
Recipes, suggestions, and ideas are all welcome.
And, hello to those that still remember me 🙂 🙂 🙂

am,i already know that,i grew up in new england where ground beef was referred to as minced beef until i was around 12.
then it was referred to as ground beef in the market, but NEVER at the farmer's market.
even now,in kansas,when i buy meat at the farmer's market,it's called minced,never ground.
when they sell ground anything,it's generally just bones to use as fertilizer.
sometimes it's different in other areas of the usa, though. i always tell my friends to ASK,before they buy, just in case!
i married a second gen german, and he HATES ground pork or chicken, unless it's sausage,it just KILLS me!! 😄
i LOVE porkburgers!! and chicken dumplings!! he doesn't....but i keep him anyway!:)

Sorry sin, but that one's all wrong for aussie rissoles
This is what they're supposed to look like
http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/17475/rissoles
purps, I use 1/2 & 1/2 minced beef and sausage mince
grated carrot, fried chopped onions & garlic, squirt tomato sauce,
worcester sauce and milk so they don't dry out and keeps them tender
I never use egg - makes them tough
I then coat in panko bread crumbs before frying

sure i will, when the beef prices here skyrocket like they are now, because of a 3 year drought throughout cattle country.
if you want to eat beef when you're poor, you learn to adapt your recipes.
and i've learned how to do this via being a caterer for years. we had to deal with what the client was willing to pay for,and what THEIR clients would be willing to pay for,and eat.
i love working with ground pork, for example, because so many of our clients also use it in their daily lives. and ground chicken, same thing. it's flavorful, and CAN be made into wonderful food,if you know how to work with it.
or if you'we willing to experiment like katy does, and like i do! 🙂 katy is a VERY goodscook, but i imagine you already know that, right? 🙂
when i have the opportunity to use REAL steak, it's an entree. other cuts of beef(i'm still working on the differences between my version and the oz version),they get used as a braised roast,or for soup/stew,or for stuffing meat. like for tacos,or burritos,or pies,or handme's.
i buy, and cook, carefully, always.
