close-up of the flowers:
It's a beatiful tree on the corner of our garden here at the block.
The birds go crazy over it, specially the lorikeets. The volume of squawking and screeching squabbling has to be heard to be believed!
I'll be back a bit later.

Icy, if it has seedpods like this one, it is most likely a Tamarind.
Because they are very hardy, they make great Bonsai trees.

This one may be closer to home.
Moreton Bay Chestnut or Blackbean
The foilage and flowers are similar to the other trees, but the seeds are huge and could do a lot of damage. See the $1 coin for comparison.
Hope I found the right one this time 😉 You really got me going with that tree.

What a challenge that was, Icy. '
It must be spectacular in "real life" and the nectar attracting rainbow lorikeets adding to the colours.
Nature in the big city on display.

I love it Deb and I'm so happy it's an aussie tree and so many aussie birds the lorikeets find sustenance from it and the introduced species as well the mynahs they are such a pleasure to watch altoghether fighting for their livelihoods.
I could easily become a bird watcher.
