Where does it come from?

Well I have just been shopping and all the Colgate toothpaste that I looked at comes from Thailand.

It would be great if others posted examples of products and where they come from as I am sure there are plenty of surprises out there.

I know I have plenty more to add Woman LOL

Re: Where does it come from?

I thought that some frozen vegies were better than fresh, or at least fresher in the sense that they are snap frozen.

Some organic farms have been in trouble in the past for poisoning people and the fact that often they are right next to a farm that sprays pesticides. Then again our garden probably has pollution from traffic.

I wonder what the absolute best way is to wash vegies, just running water over them is probably not good enough.

Re: Where does it come from?

I have a special cloth to clean fruit and veg after rinsing them. I don't grow anything now as I find the cost of water negates the savings.

Yes, best to grow own vege if you can. Must be a million times better than eating vege frozen and shipped from China. I buy what I can direct fresh from farners at a market.

The food labelling laws need to be changed. Ingredients on food labels - imported- isn't good enough for country of origin.

but be very careful you don't get legionnella from the potting mix lol

I see the lol.

I wouldn't use potting mix to grow veges! Plant them in the garden soil.

Re: Where does it come from?

Yes, it is an eye opener. I've never believed the no fat, low fat, low sugar BS, mainly because I understand marketing

and can pick what they are pushing. I always say, it is NOT what they tell you that is important, but what they DON'T

tell you. If they are telling you something, it is to hide something else !

Anyway my GF reckoned I was unhealthy and should get a check up, full medical.

It had been 20 years since my last one.

So I did and much to her annoyance, I cam away with a clean bill of health.

However, I do realise I need to cut down on sugar (and coffee) so am "trying" !

Re: Where does it come from?

I half-heard an article on the radio (abc) this morning about some imported oranges having Australian grown on the label, and someone was in trouble.  Has anyone any info on that?

Coffee is fine, you will love longer. It is also garbage that eating fat clogs up your arteries. Not being pushy here but this guy is definitely worth reading too https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tim-Noakes/363196263770926
