Well I have just been shopping and all the Colgate toothpaste that I looked at comes from Thailand.
It would be great if others posted examples of products and where they come from as I am sure there are plenty of surprises out there.
I know I have plenty more to add

MacLeans was Bond, James Bond's toothpaste of choice.......according to Ian Fleming in one of his books.-

Which means it was likely to have been the used toothpaste of choice in British Naval Intelligence during WW11

This is what I saw today
Birdseye mixed vege - frozen (Australian brand). Imported frozen vege direct to Aust.
I can't work out why this one claims to be Australian made - the Quinoa
Made in Australia from imported ingredients. Australian made and owned
What is imported? - the Quinoa seeds (most likely)
What is Australian made - the plastic pouch?

What about juice sold in Australia by Aust companies? They imioort frozen fruit concentrate , then add Australian water - voila - label can say Made in Australia without even mentioning the imported concentrate.
Who are you going to blame that on? The Chinese? The Kiwi's?the only ones that can be blamed for this is the consumer for always trying to save 10 cents or $1.00
everyone right now has the choice to buy Australian produce
yes it may be dearer but it is employing Australians and has a much more stringent quality control
now you have a choice
in the future there will be no choice as one by one Australian producers throw in the towel or sell to foriegn companies
Sadly, some families have to buy the cheapest product in the range, as they can't afford anything better.
I put some blame on the supermarkets. They introduced their own brands, using imported food - canned fruit, frozen vege etc. at a lower price than the Australian grown brands.
Looking in the frozen goods freezer today, the situation has turned, the Aust brand names have mostly imported produce but the home brands have big Australian produce banners on them.
Some decent food safety laws, proper country of origin labelling would help, which the Govt has said recenlty they will look into now.

Feb 2014 - from link in post above
New Zealand is being used as a back door to get Chinese produce on to the Australia market.
Well, Chinese produce is coming into Australia by the front door as well!

you are right that the two main competitors have very recently returned to aust produced because of public pressure
I remember walking through coles about a year ago and the fresh produce all had made in everywhere but Australia with the exception of a small percentage
that was with the apple situation They wanted to import 50,000 tonnes of apples from China
And there was a public outcry to stop it and as far as I know it did
within a couple of weeks of this awareness all labels in fresh produce section had changed to made in Australia with the exception of a few . so you see what the weight of the public can do when they absolutely refuse to eat chinese food stuffs
I am not saying that we should not import things from China. Just not fresh produce
and I cannot stress enough that if there is no support for Australian produce THERE WILL BE NO AUSTRALIAN PRODUCE
and when all produce comes from China they can charge whatever they like for any commodity because they will have a monopoly

While the major supermarkets might sell imported apples from China (or NZ), the independent fruit/vege shops might. Or imported onions (from wherever they come from) . Imported onions are sold in Aust, but supermarkets tend to sell Aust grown ones.
I know someone who lives in an area in NZ where apples are grown. They work for an apple export company and that person does the paper work for exporting apples to Australia - so NZ grown apples are sold here.

That should read: While the major supermarkets might NOT sell imported apples from China (or NZ)
