something comes of it- this has gone on for far  too long in too many countries.

*waiting patiently for Pell to come unstuck*

What I never hear is Catholics themselves being up in arms about all the abuse. it doesnt happen. the flock are mostly silent.

a quick google will reveal that this is not just the Catholic Church which is guilty of these despicable crimes... As far as the varying religions go the Catholic Church is an amateur with the Protestants leading the way, closely followed by the Anglicans.

Anglicans are Protestants.

Yes they are.

Therefore that sentence, Protestants leading they way followed closely by Anglicans can't be accurate.

Not fair comment either,  to group all churches under the Protestant label (they are independent of each other), and say they are leading the way in being guilty of despicable crimes.

It's not about picking on one particular sect, nor is it about ignoring it happens under all denominations.

The Catholic church has for years swept this under the carpet, moved offenders to other parishes. They are not exempt from criticism any more than any other church who, as a whole, chooses to ignore the problem instead of letting it be dealt with legally.

Anglicans are protestants, but not all protestants are Anglicans.

Protestants are Christians who are not Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox. So that includes Methodists, Presbyterians, Baptists, Anglicans, Mormons, etc.
