Is there a cut off point at night when they are not allowed to ring?

i am curious as we had 1 tonight at 9.30 

yes we are on the do not call register, the only time we get peace is when i ring telstra and complain then they put a trace on our phone then the calls stop for a few months then they start again.

Possibly is but many don't play by the rules anyway.

I started saying "sorry we don't take calls from strangers".

And keep repeating it, they don't have an answer for that and since starting this approach more than a year ago, they have reduced to one or two a week.

 i usually hang up as soon as i know it is them i don't give them the time of day

the worse part is they are resorting to using private numbers to call from.

a legit telemarketer or a scammer?

the latter wouldn't care what time they

call.

We get a lot of them, but not as late as 9.00 We have caller ID on our phone and if it says Overseas Caller or Private Caller we let it go through to voicemail. If it's someone legit and they start to leave a message, then we pick up; scammers or telemarketers will just hang up.

Unfortunately if it's from an overseas call centre they are not covered by the weak DNC laws of Australia and can call day or night.

as long as people keep falling for there hard sells they will keep diong it

i have a sign no canvassing next to our door bell and they still push it a couple of times a week and its realy hard for me to answer the door due to mobility problems 

a young girl got the sharp end of my tongue couple of days ago she just said i dont know what the sign means dont the cmpanys that train these people teach them not to knock when those signs are there?? i did feel a bit bad for her but im realy sick of them knocking 

theres so many situations that it can be inconveniant to have people knocking on your door

babys sleeping/ill health/night shift workers so many ..............

the phone callers we used to get a lot when we had a land line even changed our private number twice !!! but still got them so got rid of the phone 

now if i could just stop the knockers might try getting a new sign one that even the simple can understand

I dont get any calls, ......I have a an unlisted number.....

Put your phone # on the Do Not Call site.......update it every 2 years and you wont get any calls.....

A unlisted number doesn't mean a thing if they are overseas and using an auto- dialler.

I have an unlisted number, am on the Do Not Call site and still get calls from overseas telemarketers/scam artists.

As soon as I hear a pause when I pick up the phone I hang up these days.
