time for another perfume thread?

I know there was a thread a while back but thought it would be nice to start another.

What perfume are you wearing and why?

What's your fave perfume or do you have several?

A friend has just given me a bottle of Hypnotic Poison which i love so much.  It's a real mood lifter

for me.

Men too -  do you wear perfumes/colognes?  If so ---   which ones?

Even now when I get a whiff of it I look around with expectation.

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I am still using what I was using last time a thread about perfume was around. Vanderbilt (which has now become very cheap)  and Eternity which is my all time favourite, both perfumes seems to last and I am always asked what perfume I am wearing.

Years ago my favourite was Opium but I felt it became overpowering, still have some Tabu, also overpowering, have some 5th Avenue but find it a bit ordinary, bit light. Have stuff hubby has bought and I am not in love with, shhhh, don't tell him.Woman LOL

I've know not many like it but I use Red Door. I often have people compliment me and ask me what it is and when I tell them they are surprised and say it doesn't smell like that on their skin. Must just be me I guess 🙂

I have Red door as well and it's not that flash on me either. Funny how perfume can be different on different people.

I used to love Kiss - Sex In The City until I discovered Lovely by Sarah J Parker.

It happened like this:

My son and his girlfriend who live in London had amassed some frequent flyer points redeemable in Australia, but their goods could only be posted within Australia

So they asked me to receive them at my adress and forward on the UK. Of course I said yes no worries. Nothing more was said and I thought no more about it.

Weeks later, a parcel turns up at work addressed to me. It was a bottle of Lovely. I was totally mystified and asked everybody in my circle of friends and relos if they'd sent it. Thought I might've had a secret admirer. Maybe a grateful client. Never thought to ask my DIL.

I opened the bottle and tried it. Might as well, I thought.

Weeks later my son skypes and says hey Mum did Alex's bottle of perfume turn up yet?

OMG. I had to race and buy a bottle here off ebay and post it post-haste. All good.

I've been wearing Lovely ever since Woman LOLHeart

It just goes to show that body chemistry really affects the scents we wear, I've often smelt something gorgeous on someone

and then bought it only to find it's like flyspray on me.

There are some lovely scents listed here, those that i know anyway.

Icy that's a funny story. but a nice intro to a new scent.

CQ i must sample Passion as it sounds that I'd like it.

A couple mentioned Opium -  that was my signature scent a long time ago but then I felt it was too

heavy, but now it's been reformulated and I tried a spray and it's much lighter and really nice.

Purple and Deb I also love Lou Lou, and one like it Lolita Lempicka.  Just wish they all lasted longer on me, I read somewhere to

put vaseline on the skin first -   well the flies liked that, lol.
