the question is purely hypothetical
how would mankind act in the face of rocking up on mars to find a primitive race of beings allready there
do i think there are a race of beings there?
not on the information i have.
our past has not been a good example of how to treat those who were there first.
i just wonder have we as a species learned anything or would we take guns/weapons and force the old inhabitants to 'see it our way'?

Or we could just accept their hospitality and climb into that nice warm bath they have run for us, they must be big on aroma therapy, smells a bit like Grandmas 5 day soup.

Well according to the worlds of Gerry Anderson, Mars is probably already a bit crowded.
According to TV Century 21 (1960s comic) the Universal Secret Service already have a presence there in the capital city of Kahra.
According to the 1960s first Thunderbirds movie (not the recent CGI TV series) 'Thunderbirds are Go' there are such creatures as Rock Snakes on the 'dark' side of Mars.
According to Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, the source of all Spectrum's problems (ie the Mysterons) have a base on Mars.
I for one, will be VERY disappointed if they don't find SOMETHING already living on Mars...though I hope it's not the Mysterons. I remember how that discovery started.

just about every tv show and movie set in space the 'good guys' (read americans) have guns.
so, did they have any guns on board the first moon landing?
you know, just in case there were indians allready there.

If the hypothetical inhabitants of Mars (or any other planet) didn't look sufficiently like us or have a sufficiently compatable lifestyle, we'd probaby declare it 'Terra Nullius.'

Well assuming the astronauts can get past Van Allen Radiation Belt successfully, I just hope they would behave themselves there and not plant a flag.

Given our van Allen belts top out at about 58,000kms, I doubt there will be a problem. Given we've successfully breached them many times already on the way to the moon.
Mars doesn't have them, so that won't be an issue either.

Mars is probably a snap shot of our future, lifeless, where lives once mattered

Humans will not reach another planet for many many years.
