holiday was awesome... Had a great time and no problems with any of my bookings ...which I did online woohoo go me!
my mum had a fall in Pattaya, tripped over the uneven sidewalk...:( the meds she is on cause her to bruise and bleed heaps, so you can imagine what a mess she was..... We walked to a pharmacy......and luckily the girl spoke English, she cleaned up the wound and sold us what we would need to keep it clean..... She had grazed a pile of skin off her forearm....I kept changing the dressings and keeping the pharmacies in business ;).....didn't tell the family as the would have been worried .... And after a week of being home the scabs have fallen off and it's all healed ... She reckons I'm the best nurse ever ๐ ......and it didn't stop us having a great time either..
We found an awesome taxi driver in Bangkok who we hired for a whole day, he took us to a 100yr old market all carved wood - we were the only europeans there so were stared at heaps LOL then he took us to a Buddhist temple ...with humongous Buddhas everywhere!
The next day he took us to a floating markets (oldest one) where we had dinner at a restaurant on the waterfront, it was lovely, but not too many Europeans there either! We paid for his meals on the two days he was with us as it was the right thing to do! He was lovely and on that night (our last booking with him) we bought him a tshirt, his son some treats (he chose) and his wife also some treats... He was so happy , but he deserved it as he was a fabulous taxi driver/guide !

ooh and I bought myself a new phone whilst away..... A Samsung Galaxy Note II ... Plus some covers for myself, some plain ones with piccies, some bling ones ๐ also got missy the Samsung Galaxy S III a loot cheaper over there... I got them from the Samsung Shop...so no duds for me ๐

Oh my gosh Rosie! Let's hope this specialist is her answer to a better and healthier life. Very sorry Shannon has to go through all of this. I hope you can find some supplements that will help along with the prescription medicine.
Peela, sounds like you had a wonderful time on your holidays. Very sorry to hear your mum had a terrible fall. It's good to hear that she's all healed now. She's lucky to have a great daughter to help mend her wounds.
Not much happening on this end. I'm reorganizing and cleaning out my kitchen cupboards. I was only going to do 3 of them but once you start....well one leads into another and another and so on...lol.

Shannon is feeling a bit better. She called me Sunday and said she thinks she's constipated because she had only gone to the bathroom 4 times so far.....LOL. I said that's a very good sign that it's slowing down....compared to the 20+ it was getting to be. She has no fever and the pain has eased up. I sure hope doubling up on her meds is working! I did find a supplement while researching this weekend that sounds very promising for inflammation. It's called Boswellia. It's been put through some studies and has shown some very good results. So I order some up and they will hopefully be here before the weekend because her father is going there. I want her to start on them ASAP. She's also taking probiotics as well for supplements. So fingers crossed everyone!!
Peela: Sounds like you had an awesome vacation. I hope your mum is feeling much better now. I am glad she wasn't injured too badly in her fall.
Donna: we just got a new gas cook stove and the bottom where we keep the pots and pans is not as big as the one in the electric stove so I have had to do some rearranging to have a place to store things differently. But, it was good. Got rid of a lot of things we just don't use or was outdated. It was time....

well my shower is leaking ... darn thing .... I tried to change the washers to no avail ... couldnt get them to budge ..... so called a plumber and he is coming on tuesday arvo to change the shower arm/head and also the washer in the handles .... he says he will re-align the inside and that will mean it lasts longer ... plus he uses industrial washers ... as they also last longer than the ones you buy in the shops .... so fingers crossed all goes well ... Im lucky my missy does not go back to work until wednesday .... so she can be here to supervise his work and pay him ..... and according to him its gonna cost around $170 .... so thats not too bad considering all the annoyance its causing me at the moment .... we have a bucket under it and are using the water to fill the toilet when flushed and the excess on the garden ... so technically not being wasted at all .... ๐

booked only tues & thurs this week ... but thats ok ... seeing as mon is a public holiday ... and friday Im off to have a mammogram ..... not fond of them I gotta say ... but if you have ever had one you know they arent the most comfortable tests to have done .... but necessary like all the other tests we need to have .... ๐
and Im sure to get a call or be ask to work on the wed as there is a dearth of staff at the moment .... so if I do then ok ... if I dont ok also ... ๐

Shannon is coming home today. She has a job interview tomorrow at the hospital that Chris works at. It's in the finance dept. So fingers crossed that something may come out of this. At least they are interested enough to interview. I hope she finds a job pretty soon!
I received the new supplement so she can get that into her system. Hopefully it will help a great deal. She is feeling better and the bathroom trips have slowed down to a more "normal" (at least her normal) level. She will be having blood work done in the next week so I hope there will be improvement showing.
Having a lazy day today. I have worked every day this week so today is my only day off. Just being a bum in front of the tv Feels good!

Peela, well it wasn't my intention to do the whole bloomin kitchen but that's what ended up happening...lol. I get totally bored with it and I don't mess with it for a few days and then go back to it. Did you get your shower fixed? Hope you're having a good week so far.
Not a whole lot to report...my perpetual kitchen job and the usual cleaning. Still trying to get over my lower back pain I caused from lifting cement blocks outside. We built a temp wall of them to keep the javelina from busting through the skirting on our house....nasty things.

Shannon's job interview went well. She got a call back for a 2nd interview on Friday. So that's encouraging. Hopefully something will come of it.

Not much happening here. Our weather has been awesome....70's. This weekend we're expecting a bad storm and the temps will drop and possible snow again for us.
