Great collection of music on here, I will ask for this thread to be archived before they start culling it at around 8000 posts.

Maybe i should've opened another edition at that time, Dunno what i was thinking.

Hi happyplanet and joz.:-)

Yes I saw Buddy Guy & Junior at the Hordern Pavillion in 1975.Those 2 artists were playing a gig which was presented by levi's jeans. Also on the bill were Sonny Terry & Brownie Mcghee,Freddie King,Hounddog Taylor & The Houserockers,Alexis Korner& Duster Bennett.Unfortunately a lot of those guys have passed away. However Buddy Guy is doing a tour of Oz in April. He will be playing at the Enmore Theatre on April 4.

Here's a little blues from Duster Bennett

Just about everybody I'd love to have seen live have gone to the big music ballroom in the sky or are reminiscing quietly in their nursing homes...some went decades before I was born...I would love to have seen some of the blues/jazz ladies, Dinah Washington, Ella, Sarah Vaughan, Billie, Ella Mae Morton, Big Mama Thornton, Memphis Minnie, Big Maybelle and a hundred more...

...at least my mother saw 'The Little Sparrow', Edith Piaf, sing in Paris in the early 50's, just her in the spotlight in a little nightclub, in her little black dress, a tiny, frail woman belting out La Vie En Rose.

Am very partial to a showtune....my Ethel Merman impression goes down a treat in certain circles. Saw a spangly production of 42nd Street in old blighty in the late 80's...made me want to take up tap and invest in a pair of hotpants and a funny hat for a week or two there...
