As you only opened this account today, have you sold anything under another account name that fees were due on?
Was this only in your emails or was it also in your eBay messages?
Have you made any purchases for a lesser amount? ( I ask this because some members have posted they have experienced being charged several times for the one purchase due to a glitch)
As I say, without knowing anything, members here can only guess
